Description
The method Esha-Izoton is used to seal the deck of concrete bridges before applying asphalt pavement. Asphalt laying is performed directly on Esha-Izoton membrane. Due to the fact that Esha-Izoton is applied as a melt, it demonstrates excellent adhesion even in the cases where the bridge concrete-deck surface is not smooth or uneven.
Τhe Esha-Izoton method consists of:
a) A thin layer of Esha-Izoton primer that consists of purified bitumen, elastomeric polymer additives, special plasticizers and solvents. Esha-Izoton Primer is in the form of bitumen emulsion.
b) A layer of thin perforated glass fleece.
c)The main waterproofing layer, EshaIzoton Bituminous Mastic. It consists of a mixture of elastomeric bitumen and aggregates.
Esha-Izoton has been applied in more than 180 bridges in Greece the last 15 years, in a total of 550.000 m2 and more than 1.200.000 m2 abroad (Bulgaria, Germany,Austria,Switzerland, Russia) since 1958.
